The Senshi of the Sun: Part Two

"What?!" Jupiter and Venus both looked startled at the idea.

"I think she should join us, she'd stay out of trouble and besides," I shrugged, "she needs to learn to control magic."

"But we aren't trained to teach," this was startling, especially coming from the group's most studious soldier, "I meant that we don't know how to teach a beginner, don't you agree Mars?"

"Actually," voiced Mars, "I think it would be a good idea."

"Really?" The pure happiness in Princess Selenity's voice completely closed the topic to discussion; she was staying, whether or not we were trained to teach her. I was glad that Mars had agreed, her opinion was obviously so important to our princess. If she had instead retorted with some snide remark, we would have had to skip the whole meeting in order to find Selenity. It was true that she tended to be seen as a crybaby, but that made her so cheerful at other times, was I truly the only one who saw that?

"So Sun, who did you think she should be training with?" Mercury's practical question brought me out of my thoughts.

"Well, since the moon's magic includes love and justice, she should train with Venus and me. Mars could try to try teaching her to read fire, although she may not be able to, you could train her to think quick when put in a dangerous situation, and Jupiter could train her to be able to use physical strength." I paused, pondering whether to bring up the subject of helping her figure out how to use purity as magic, but decided that it should be done by her, no help from us whatsoever.

"Alright, so how 'bout this," Venus took control of the situation, which I was thankful for…I never did like leading things. "One person at a time trains her and at the same time is there for her protection, while the other four are practicing on their own. We could switch off every, say…hour?"

"Great, what is the order?" There's Jupiter for you, always ready to jump in and get things started.

"We should set up a logical schedule that evenly balances magic with physical and mental training so she doesn't become tired from magic overuse or weary from physical strain."

"Yeah," Mars nodded approval towards Mercury, "how about this… First she trains with Venus, to get a taste at magic. No offense, Sun, but your magic isn't exactly the kind you want to start a beginner off with."

"None taken, I agree. Perhaps Mercury could go next?"

"Makes sense. Then Jupiter, then me, then you, okay?" I nodded, only half hearing the conversation. I felt like I was remembering something, but it was more like a premonition. That's impossible though, Mars has premonitions, not me. Still…

"That sound's like a plan, now let's get started!" Everyone nodded acknowledgement, "Good. Princess, since you're training with my magic first, where would you like to start?"

A dance…

"Does it really matter?"

The palace was familiar, the Moon? Yes, the Moon…

"Well, obviously on Venus love magic would be much more powerful, but either the moon or the Sun would be an easier place for to you control it."

A celebration of some kind…

"What about here?"

An attack…

"Earth is not very abundant in magic. Besides," she gave Selenity a knowing look, "I fear you would be distracted."Sure enough, the princess' face turned as red as Mars' skirt.

Soldiers telling everyone to hide, then running towards the enemy…

"Um…Wouldn't I be in danger on the Moon?"

Five soldiers there, five soldiers here, could it be…

"Normally, but you have a Sailor Senshi with you." Jupiter laughed, "no kidnapper would be stupid enough to attack you under those circumstances, at least not in broad daylight."

If I could just see their faces…

"Alright, the moon then."

The enemy has arrived…

"Let's go, maybe by the end of the day you can control some magic as well as we can."

Four generals leading…

"I doubt it."

But they looked like…

"Hey, stay optimistic."

With a flash of yellow light they were gone. No, I must be seeing things…

"Well, perhaps we should pair up for practice."

No! Our princess is…

"Sound's good."

We can't beat them…

"Alright, the best combination would be Mars and me and you and Sun."

Queen Selenity, but that is the ginzuishou…

"Fine with me, Sun?"

So, this is the power of the moon…

"Sailor Sun," I felt someone shaking my shoulder, "What's wrong?" I looked up to see Jupiter, Mars, and Mercury, all with worried expressions.

"I'm fine, just zoned out a bit."

"Alright," Mercury had her tutor look on her face, "did you hear what we said?"

"Um, yeah. I'm against Jupiter, right?"

"Right, ready to rumble?" Jupiter grinned, "This time I'm gonna beat you."

"You keep wishing that!" I grinned back, "But, as usual, it's not coming true."

"Are you sure you're okay?" Mars still looked worried.

"Of course I am," wasn't I? Just a dream…But maybe… "Hey, when you train Princess Selenity, mind if I tag along?"

"Sure." She seemed to understand, maybe she saw the same dream too? Either way, she was satisfied with my answer. But was I?
