The Senshi of the Sun:: Part One

*Note-This fanfic is narrative, but jumps from the view of one person to the next. To simplify, each section is a different scene, and in most cases the point of view changes.*

"Princess?" I paused, "Princess." She must be deaf. I leaned close to her ear, "PRINCESS!" She sat up faster then a bullet. That must have worked, I thought, either that or she's sleep wal-er…sitting. "Princess? Are you awake?"

"What happened?" She looked around, bewildered, "Where am I?" I just sighed; the girl had the worst memory…

"Don't you remember? You're staying in our castle until either your guards or another member of your court finds some clues about whoever tried to kidnap you."

"Kidnap me?" She had a dazed look on her face.

"Forgive me, I didn't want it to have to come to this." I concentrated and a glass of cold water materialized in my hand, but was soon splashed onto her face.

"AAAAAAAAAH! What did you do that for?!"

"I'm sorry, but I had to, you wouldn't wake up. It's my duty to protect you for the time being, and it's quite a bit harder to protect a drugged princess then an awake and well one."

"I'm not drugged, and that water was COLD!"

"Well you were acting like it, and it was supposed to be."

"You're worse then Mars," She looked down at her pajamas, "And now I'm all wet."

"Here." I chanted a small spell, and waved my hand. She was now dressed in a gown of golden color with her hair braided in the back, as was the style of the sun's noblewomen. "You'll fit in better that way." I thought back to her first comment, "and don't be so hard on Mars. You know she cares about you as much-if not more then any of us."

"Yeah, I know," she looked down, "she seldom lies, huh?"

"Oh, princess. You shouldn't take what she said so hard."

"How could I not?! She said I was a spoiled moon brat that doesn't have enough sense to learn to defend herself!"

"She was afraid, you had come very close to danger."

"But she was right," she looked down, "if you and Venus hadn't caught me…"

"But we did, and whoever it was didn't. You shouldn't be running off to Earth so late, anyway. I'm sure Prince Endymion wouldn't mind if you spent at least five minutes staying on the moon."

"I know…do you think Mars was right?" She met my eyes and I knew that she'd see right through me if I lied. Damn, that gift was supposed to only belong to me, I thought wryly.

"Well…" I tried to search for the best words, "you are being raised to become a queen, not a court soldier like us." Her gaze didn't waver, I knew I couldn't avoid the question, "I suppose it wouldn't hurt for you to learn some self-defense, though."

"You DO agree with her!" Tears began to well in her eyes, "you think I'm weak, well it's not my fault!" She looked away, presumably to hide her tears, making me feel horrible.

"I didn't say that, you just haven't been trained," I tried to think of an excuse, "but seeing as there was a threat to you, I think that it would be alright to allow you to come to the senshi meeting tomorrow. You would be thoroughly protected, and you could pick up some skills, and maybe you could learn to control magic."

"You're kidding, right?"

"No, I'm sure we'd all feel better if you were close by and out of danger."

"That's not what I meant," she rolled her eyes, "don't you know about moon magic?"

"Um, the magic of the Sun is more of my thing," I replied sheepishly.

"It's supposed to be the most powerful magic in this system."

"That's a good thing."

"Well, it also means that it's the hardest to learn."

"Ah. Well, with five soldiers trained to a high level of their magic, I'm sure you could get pointers." A second thought then occurred to me, what magic DOES the moon provide? All anyone knew was that the moon family derived power from the family crystal, known as the ginzuishou, which only Queen Selenity knew how to control. But other then that, nothing was known. "Princess, do you know what the magic of the moon is?"

"Of course, everyone in the moon family knows, why?"

"Well, would you mind sharing the info?"

"Oh!" She blushed slightly as a sweat drop appeared on her head, "I forgot about that, sorry."

"Quite all right, but are you allowed to tell others?"

"Yeah, but I'm not sure exactly how to put in words…"

"Try, we need to know what senshi your magic most closely relates to."

"Well, it has to do with purity, justice, and…" She looked up.

"And?"

"I'm thinking…OH! The other thing is love."

"So, you should probably train with Venus to control love magic and me for justice magic, but I don't think anyone can help you with purity. That's probably the most powerful magic of the moon, which means you have to learn it on your own."

"What if I can't?"

"You should try to do things yourself, but I'll always be there to help."

"Alright, I'll try."

"That's good." I stood and gestured for her to do the same. When she arose, I turned and we walked toward the dining hall. I just hoped that no one would attempt another kidnapping, at least not today.
