Later that night, Minako was sitting on the couch watching TV,
alone. Darien had gone out to pick up Usagi half an hour before.
She was feeling especially lonely tonight, she didn’t know why though.
Maybe because all of her friends were doing something with their
families and her only family now, Darien, was out with the one he
loves. She got up then and turned off the TV. She walked out onto
the deck and just stared at the lights of the city.
Soon, the lights got blurry and she began crying. She finally
realized why she was crying, it was because she was in love with
Darien. How could she be though? How could she fall in love with
her best friend’s boyfriend? Not only that, but it was their destiny
for them to be together, how could she mess with fate? But it felt
all so right, these past few weeks had been the greatest. Minako
and Darien had done everything together, that is, except when he
was with Usagi. She thought that they had really connected, especially
since their lives were so similar now. He had no one, she had no
one, why not be together? Minako knew she had to stop thinking like
this, she would do nothing to hurt her best friend.
“Maybe,” she said, “I should just leave their lives forever. I’ll
go where I can’t hurt anyone. I’ll go to where my REAL family is...”
With that, Minako climbed up to the edge of the balcony. The lights
of the passing cars below were so pretty, so very pretty. She closed
her eyes, breathed in a big breath, and leaned forward.
